Introduction

Love Hemp is one of the most well-known CBD brands in the UK having been established in London back in 2015 – practically ancient in terms of the UK CBD industry.

Love Hemp’s pioneering of CBD products half a decade ago demonstrated foresight into how big the industry would become. However, that doesn’t automatically mean it continues to do so… that’s why we at CBDScanner are reviewing Love Hemp and its products to see where the company stands today.

In this review, we will be taking a look at Love Hemp’s 15ml CBD E-liquid, available in 100mg and 250mg CBD concentrations. As you may have found from our CBD Vaping Guide, there are a lot of products to choose from so hopefully, we can help you with your decision making!

Look and Feel

The Love Hemp branding for this 15ml e-liquid is pretty clean, with an organic-looking cylindrical container housing your standard dropper bottle.

The top of the bottle unscrews into a glass pipette which you can use to carefully fill your vape with nicotine-free CBD e-liquid.

What’s In It?

Cannabinoid Content

In terms of cannabinoid content, this 15ml CBD Vape Oil is a full-spectrum blend predominantly containing CBD with trace amounts of CBDA, CBGA, CBG, CBD, THCV, CBN, THC, THCA and CBD.

In a published lab report of the 250mg variant performed by Fundación Canna, trace amounts of each of the above cannabinoids was found with a CBD content of 1.586%, just shy of the 1.66% needed to reach 250mg of CBD, although this could have been made up by the trace amounts of the other cannabinoids.

Unfortunately, Love Hemp have since removed all lab reports from its website. We have written to the company trying to understand this change in approach and await a response.

Other Ingredients

Aside from the cannabinoids, which are said to be from 99% pure CBD crystals and full spectrum cannabinoid-rich hemp extract, the other ingredients include:

  • Vegetable Glycerine and Propylene Glycol (60:40 ratio): common e-liquid ingredients which are used to deliver the CBD to the body.
  • Artificial Flavourings

It is worth mentioning that other e-liquids, such as Hempura’s CBD Vape Liquid use naturally occurring terpenes to add flavour rather than artificial flavourings.

Terpenes are known to contribute to the entourage effect {add internal link} and provide a more authentic CBD experience versus artificial additives.

Taste

It has to be said that, despite the use of artificial flavourings over naturally occurring terpenes, Love Hemp’s vape liquid tastes great.

The 15ml bottles are available in 4 flavours: Blueberry Menthol, Custard Cream, Mary Jane and Grape.

Despite it sounding a bit weird, my personal preference is the Custard Cream flavour, which adds a sweetness to the taste but isn’t too overpowering.

Strength

Love Hemp’s 15ml e-liquid is available in just two CBD concentrations, 100mg and 250mg.

While these may seem on the low side when compared with CBD Oils, that are often as high in concentration as 2,000mg, it is worth remembering that vaping is thought to be one of the most efficient ways of taking CBD.

In fact, vaping is thought to be the method of cannabinoid ingestion which has the highest bioavailability of all, and therefore results in more CBD reaching your bloodstream than via other methods.

Having said this, more frequent CBD consumers will probably be looking for something a little stronger, around the 500mg mark.

Unfortunately, Love Hemp does not offer such high concentration e-liquids and you would be better off going for something like The Goods’ CBD Vape Juice which is only available at 500mg.

Having said this, if you are not a hardcore user these lower concentrations may well be the best option and 250mg is still a decent amount of CBD for a vape juice.

Testing

The lab reports for both the 100mg and 250mg concentrations were carried out by Fundación Canna. However, since this product review has been uploaded, the lab reports have now been removed.

We cannot comment as to why this is, but we are disapointed at the reduction in transparency by Love Hemp.

Overall Feeling

Love Hemp’s 15ml e-liquid tick many of the boxes customers should be looking for when it comes to vaping CBD, although it would be great if there was a bit more transparency in the manufacturing process; we were unable to find much by way of information about where Love Hemp’s CBD comes from.

Despite using artificial flavourings versus naturally occurring terpenes, the full-spectrum hemp extract and the fact that the different flavours all taste great make Love Hemp’s offering a solid e-liquid option.
